Editing
You can create and edit a story using our editor. Every story requires a title, sub-title, and body.
The body of the story should contain a start, middle, and ending.
Editor
The editor gives you the ability to determine the font size and style of text,
add an image, add a video, create an order or unordered list, and add a link.
It also shows you the number of words you've written as well as any minimum number of words needed to publish the story.
The editor will automatically auto-save the story once every 3 minutes.
It will also allow you to listen to the story as audio.
Here's an image of the SaySo editor:
The top row of icons provides the ability to specify the text styles, list styles, embed a link, image, and podcast.
Additonally, the image can be one that you own or have rights to use and upload, or you may select one from Unsplash.
Underneith the editor you can see how many words you've written, how many minutes of read-time those words would typically take,
the number of read-time minutes required to be posted, and whether you have met those requirements for read-time.
Publishing
Once you consider your story completed, you can publish it yourself by changing it's status to publish or sending to a group.
You can also schedule uyour story for a later date/time to.
The following are guidelines when creating a post
- The post must be at least N minutes read-time where N is either the global site-wide minimum or the group minimum number of allowed read minutes.
- The title must be in AP style capitalization.
- The sub-title must be in sentence style capitalization.
Read Time
Each post has a stated read-time. This is calculated by dividing ther number of words in the post by 250 and finding the floor of the result. e.g., 300 words is considered a 1 minute read,
The site has a minimum allowed number of minutes read time for a post to be accepted. Each Group may also specify a minimum read time for a post to be submitted.
Headlines and sub-headings
In general, a title should be AP style capitolization and sub-headings should be sentence case capitolization.

- Spacing: Use one space after a period (not two).
- Serial comma: Do not use a comma before the last item in a series.
- Perspective: Write your heading and sub-heading from a third-person perspective (e.g., he/she/it/they), never first person (I/we) or second you).
- Numbers: Spell out numbers between one and nine, then use numerals thereafter (e.g., eight, nine, 10, 11, 12, and so on).
- Dates: Use numbers for dates and abbreviate months with more than five letters.
- Common acronyms: Acronyms that are widely recognized, such as FBI, CIA, NASA, EU, US, IRS, NATO, COVID, NIH, and CDC, are acceptable.
- Less common acronyms: Acronyms that are less well-known but still common, such as OSHA, can be used after spelling out the full name on the first mention.
- Formal titles: Abbreviations can be used for people's formal titles, such as CEO or PhD.
- State abbreviations: Each US state has a specific abbreviation that can be used.
